winters garden

Even though we are in the thick of it, meaning Winter, there are signs that Spring is coming. Keep hope. The grey skies will give way to sun. EVENTUALLY…..See? Little purple rosemary flowers…..purple I adore rosemary. Especially in risotto with 4 cheeses. OMG. Now I am hungry. purple2Underneath this dingle ball thingy’ is an assortment of hellebores. I love this dingle ball thingy. In fact so much, that I made more of them and have them hanging from branches  all around the yard. purple3Here she is… Helleborus Niger or more commonly known as the Christmas Rose. She makes me happy, when I spy her white blooms peeking up from the dead winter ground. I think I need to get her some friends. I feel a trip to the garden store coming on. hellebore1Ravi, the peacock. He actually isn’t in my yard but lives near my barn. I thought I’d throw him in here for good measure. He is one colourful yard ornament for sure and every garden needs a good garden ornament. Have you ever seen peacock poo? It’s like a brown soft swirl ice cream cone. Sorry, but it is so weird I had to tell in case you didn’t know.
purple4  A little rust never hurt any one either. It adds a splash of copper colour. I am a sucker for rusty.purple5 Here is my garden King. He stands guard over the bird bath. Making sure Willa the serial killer leaves the birds alone. I like his expression. He’s like “Huh, ya, that’s cool”. Can I have another beer?

    • I love winter as well, just not the looming grey clouds that seem to inhabit the west coast of bc. I love the name of your blog especially the kingdom part. It is perfect!
Thank you for stopping by and taking a peek at my shots. Cheers!
