Honestly, there is no better way to brighten the day than time well spent with a good, good friend. One of my dearest friends on the planet and I decided to ditch work after about 30 seconds today, well actually more like 2 seconds , and go out and play hooky with our cameras. J~ Dawg  over at Couch and Coffee has been my friend ever since I laid eyes on her, oh, about 11  years ago. I will never forget that day. EVER. Rewind. Back to the hazy days of babies and toddlers. It is a blur. I do however remember this day.

It was the first morning of kindergarten for our sons, and I struggled to get a very young 5 yr old into a school he very much didn’t want to go into, while dragging my 6 month old sleeping baby daughter in her  holy crap, very heavy car seat and all the while toting along a 2-year-old tired and cranky toddler on my third arm that only a mother can grow. I still feel overwhelmed and out of breath just thinking about it.I need a drink….

This is the part where Jennifer comes in. Seriously, she took one look at me, the frazzled stranger standing in the doorway, hair on end, on the verge of tears, just ready to bolt, without kids, and she SAVED me. We literally locked eyes. She with her big black artsy specs on, flaming red hair and red lipstick. Her first words to me were ” Don’t worry honey, I beat my kids too!” She was joking of course but she took me with  those words from the edge of a nightmare/murder scene to a good laugh and being able to breathe for a second or two.We have been friends ever since. I loved her since the minute she saved me. You will love her too. She bakes, she paints, she can drink a martini like only she can, she is an amazing photographer, she has a pink marshmallow heart and is one of the funniest people I know. We tell her she should have her own reality show. Go visit her blog. You won’t be sorry you did. Promise. Now go and love her up!! Happy Friday!
