beards,beers and bikes

I HEART Portland. It has been said to be a country in its own country. Perched atop of a bicycle seat, spinning my wheels precariously about the town, I have seen it in living colour and I liked it, I liked it a lot. If I could run away, grow a bushman beard and work at Lardo cooking up wicked eats, ride my vintage cruiser around, slug back another micro brewed IPA ,I would in a heart beat. Sadly, I play for the other team, aka, I am a girl, I am married and have three yard apes. Probably not going to happen in this lifetime. No beard either. Like ever. Should I say that again, no weird woman beard on me. EVER. Don’t get me wrong, I like those beards,on boys, they are sexy, especially when paired up with a big pair of heavy black rimmed glasses. It’s a hot look. Hairy and smart all at the same time.  Check it out.

beard copyawesome nice guy. awesome store.

pig copyLardo. Order the Dirty Fries, you won’t be sorry, unless you’re a vegetarian. They are bringing fat back.

brewDid I ever mention how much I love beer?  The Cristal IPA at McMennamins. Super yum.

weird2 copyKeep Portland Weird. Stay tuned, I have much more on Portland. Vintage treasure, “The Man”, more beer, more beards. Don’t even get me started on the most beautiful gardens. Until then…..Cheers!

Do you have a I HEART city?

  1. I ❤ my town of Fort Collins, CO! Lots of great beer – many microbreweries with many choices for IPA! Not that I drink that much, but the town is really cool. And the one time I visited Portland, I loved it!

  2. Austin and San Antonio rock! The whole beard/thick glasses thing has been happening for a long time all over Texas tho’ – about 8 – 10 years. I’m WAAAAAAAAAAAY over it, but you’d love it! 😉

  3. Love the idea of a restaurant called “Lardo”–bringing fat back. Was fat ever gone? haha. Don’t forget Powell’s Cit of Books. Best bookstore ever. {{{hugs}}} Kozo

  4. Ted, did you have a big beard and groovy glasses? I hope so…. We are getting a big kick out of watching “Portlandia”….Hawthorne Street had so many amazing food places. Good Dog, Bad Dog , I will have to check out next time.
