Oprah and friends

Clearly I have been hanging about with the animals A LOT this week. I happen to be farm sitting, in a sort of way, and so that makes me a sort of  farmer this week. Yay, I always wanted a little farm. Let me tell you one thing, it is freaking’ hard this farm life. By the time I get home from all my chores I so am wiped out. I have hay in my ginchies ( sexy huh?) oh, yes ,in my bra too( I know, too much information) but it is amazing where that hay can travel to and  hide. I am pretty much a hot mess. You can imagine what my house looks like after abandoning it for 7 days. The farm looks great, the house, not so much.

As tiring as it was, it’s been fun. I took care of 3 llamas, the one in the photo is Oprah, her field mates are Angelina Jolie and Dolly Parton, two goats, Parsley, (from yesterdays blog) and her father Billy Rae,( seeing a pattern here???), Horatio and Penelope, the barn kitties,  Celebrity and Hollywood, their two Rocky Mountain handsome steeds,Fox the Morgan, Logan the dog, and finally my two horses Shania ( not Twain) and Chip. Hmm, forgot to mention the bazillion pigeons that I have to water and one peacock  to feed as well. That adds up to a lot of animal everything. Food, water, poop. Oh my, a LOT of poop!

It has been a slice though, not a glamorous slice but good hard work and fresh air. Good old fashioned hard work never killed anyone. Now, I just hope I didn’t pick up any parasites. I better go crack a cold beer, the alcohol in that will kill anything I may have pick up. Right?

Cheers and enjoy the weekend! I know I will…… 🙂

    • Hey Julie,
It is something I have always dreamed of in my life, living on property with all my favourite critters, but it is a lot of work boy…good work but exhausting….. How many horses do you have? I just melt at your equine shots!
