my hippy girl street soul

Whenever  I make the trek to a major city I like to scoot out of the downtown core asap and head over the to the other side of the bridge or across the tracks per se. Just far enough from the big name stores and large hotel chains to where the good stuff is. The really good stuff .

Where small independent coffee shops brew up a pretty mean cuppa joe AND homemade donuts!! Donuts so damn good you can’t have just one. Trust me.  Remember vinyl??? There are record shops here too. A couple, I think…

main street1

It’s where Mom and Pop owned and run eateries whip up something more than special from scratch and not from a bucket….

It’s where there are hole in the wall pubs with  locals dropping by with bongos in hand and beat up guitars and original songs to share…..

and a good ole’  thrift/vintage shop or three fresh for treasure hunting. Whoo, be still my beating heart.

It is a street where ideas are hatched, born and raised.

Oh I love you Main Street. Bless your awesomeness. Bless your original vibe. I love your community. I love you to the moon and back.

what makes your heart happy when you travel? are you a downtown cat or across the tracks indy? happy friday, have a groovy weekend! xo

  1. I love your images, Kimberly! Your really captured the good vibe, bright colors and cool textures of Main Street. And vinyl! Oh man, did you bring back some cool memories of being careful not to scratch those tracks and of background noise in each song! 🙂
    Have a great weekend! 🙂

    • Hi Stefano. Yay, I am happy you liked them! 😀 My husband and I recently stayed in a funky hotel and our room had a record player which was so fun. I love vinyl too especially the crackling sound. I hope you are having a great weekend. Cheers.

  2. Wow! What a groovy adventure you brought us on… thank you! And I’m with you all the way… vintage/thrift shops, funky record stores, pizza shops declaring ‘don’t argue’, and how badly do I want to hang out for a while in that pub – enjoying some original tunes and some truly original characters! Their chalkboard (your photo of it) made me really laugh out loud! You rock K! 😀 xo Gina
