Even this wispy snowflake covered pine knows the spirit of the season. She is gently hugging this tiny frozen adornment. If you are feeling all grouchy pants about the crowds out there in the malls and all the money that you are literally hemorrhaging on gifts upon gifts and how this ‘Christmas thing’ is so not what it used to be when you were a kid, I have one thing to say. GO HUG SOMEONE.
#1~ hugs are free
#2~hugs make you feel good about giving AND receiving
#3~hugs release oxytocin (the feel good hormone) and dopamine into the body. No need for pharmaceuticals!
#4~ regular hugging can lower blood pressure, fight depression and ease fatigue.
#5~ AND they are quick because we all are pretty busy at this time of year BUT the longer you hold that hug the better.
SO? What are you waiting for? If the tiny tree can do it so can you. Go find someone to hug. Like right now… Go on, I’ll wait.
