Dear Noah,
Happy 14th birthday to you today. I am writing you a wee love note because I know that you are growing up way too fast and probably at this time it’s not super cool for your Mom to just lay it on you in person. So…. here goes….
Fourteen years ago today, I woke up from a dream thinking I had peed in the bed. See? Be glad I am not telling you this in person. Awkward. Well, I didn’t,so phew, but it was a big sign that you wanted to be an early Valentines Day baby . Four weeks early to be exact. I wasn’t ready for that but apparently you were. So, along you came. Quickly I might add….A bouncing baby boy!The best Valentine I ever received, and that’s an understatement.
I knew you, before you were even born. I knew you were Noah. Gently curled up inside my cosy belly nest. I knew you were a gentle soul. I have never been so sure of anything else. Ever. The connection was there. I knew you were you. You made me eat meat!!! I am still horrified at myself( seriously) I was a vegetarian and you made me eat meat.( I snuck through McDonald’s drive thru’s for those little hamburgers for you) From chickpeas to beef, full on! Funny. You today are a pure carnivore and I am still eating those little burgers. That connection,again.Weird.
We already gave you your birthday present this morning but I wanted to give you 14 more wishes. Here they are….
1~ may you always have a wingman . someone you can trust, someone you can laugh with. best friends are a gift.
2~ I hope you can find comfort, joy and healing in animals always and forever. I wish for you a beautiful blue eyed Husky, but later, much later…LOL… like when you have your own place! 
3~ I wish for you a life of goofiness and wonder. Don’t take life too seriously and try to see the light and laughter in tough situations. Trust me on this one, it’s a life saver.
4~ One day I wish for you a partner that will see how handsome, gentle, funny and awesome you are. Someone that will love you as much as me and your Dad.
5~ I wish that you can keep some of our family traditions alive when you have your own children. I adore our cupcakes after getting the Christmas tree as much as you. Yes, that is a long time from now,or it better be, so in the time being just rock that cupcake! 
6~ I hope you keep using every stick, old wrapping paper roll or pretty much anything long and wieldable as swords to slay invisible creatures. Keep on being a Ninja just a little while longer. Please? 
7~ I hope you keep your “fire”. You can however stop burning entire boxes of matches please!! 
8~ I wish you would keep letting me take your picture, even though I bug you so much sometimes. One day when you become old and creaky these will become treasure for you. Promise.
9~ I hope you always feel the wind in your hair, the sunlight on your face and peace in your heart.
10~ ~ I wish you forever keep wearing StarWars t-shirts and making those crazy masks out of knee braces or boxes…you can however lose the scary axe!
11~ Of course I wish for you a healthy life. One free from ugly cancer or heart disease or depression. I also wish you the knowledge and wisdom on how to avoid some of these diseases through good choices.
12~ I wish for you success in however you see it. I hope we have raised you well enough to see that success is not measured in monetary value but in the simple things.
13~ I wish that you stay young at heart. ALWAYS. Age is a state of mind not a number.
14~ of course I have many, many wishes for you Noah ,but the last one for now is that you continue your path in life as a good human. someone who looks out for others. someone who is not afraid to stand up and do what is right. right for them, maybe not the groups choice. Be you.
